Terakihi as bait.

stand up type game rods
Line weights
24kg
Terminal tackle
3 metre of heavy trace ( 80kg + ) with sinker on the
bottom and one 14/0 circle hook 1.5m from the bottom
Salt Water Fly
9 to 12 weight saltwater fly rod , good quality SWF
reel which will hold 300m backing and has a good
drag .
Fast sinking shooting head , up to 10kg tippet with large deceiver type fly , up to10cm long .
Other fish caught on SWF
Kahawai , Skipjack and Albacore Tuna
Recomended lures
Jigs: Tackle House P-boy Jig or similar in size 100g
to 150g
Rubber tail lead head jigs in very large size, 100g
weight and 15cm to 20cm long in colours blue-white
and green-yellow.
Poppers and minows also work well when fish are on
the surface.
Note! Use only single hooks on all
lures, no trebles. Most yellowtail will be tagged
and released and trebles damage the fish so they
may not survive after release.
